Launch event – Great Speakers to Kick off our 4 x Action Summit Series
Our launch event was jammed packed with a fabulous line up of speakers to share their stories and inspiration for reimaging the future of responsible cafes.
We started with an acknowledgement of country from Stephen Thorpe of Charcoal Lane, one of Australia’s leading indigenous restaurants.
Then we spoke with Janet Salem from the United Nations to give us a global prospective on key café issues, Dr Adam Carr from Seven Miles Roasters who told us about key 2025 industry trends, Hana Assafiri from the Moroccan Soup Bar to hear her COVID story and how she created a whole new business approach, and then Sarah Wilson a Responsible Cafe Ambassador to discuss the concept of “moral courage” and how this relates to running a café.
We watched a compilation of wonderful café case studies before coming together as a group (with a few extra speakers – Sav from I am not paper, Michael from Huskee Cup, and Rachel from Alternative Dairy Co) to go deeper into the theme of reimaging responsible cafes.
This launch was a precursor to 4 x Action Summits to be held every Tuesday in March 2021. Check out a summary of the program for each event.
